Philosophy

Hegel was influenced by certain people such as Aristotle, Descartes, and Spinoza. Hegel agreed with Spinoza that God and the universe were inseparable. He disagreed with Kant that God was beyond human reason to comprehend.
Hegel was a rationalist who studied metaphysics. His way of thinking was called dialectic. Dialectic means that through the course of history there are two sides to an argument and when that argument is resolved, then a new concept for an argument begins. Some people even describe dialectic as a giant snowball going through history remembering the most important parts.
Philosophy is its own time raised to the level of thought is how Hegel put it.Hegel was the founder of Hegelianism which is a type of philosophy which all reality is capable of being expressed in rational categories.
Some of the philosophers Hegel influenced included Marx, Kierkegaard, and Sartre. Kierkegaard was totally against Hegel however. He didn't agree with a word Hegel said. His philosophy is still really well known today.
